The Monarch Round is a versatile brush built for precision. Its round shape holds a fine point for detailed linework while carrying enough colour for broader, more expressive strokes — making it equally at home with delicate glazes or bold marks.
The filaments are made from synthetic polyester that sits between sable and hog bristle in stiffness — responsive enough for blending and glazing, yet firm enough to move heavy-bodied oils with ease. Being synthetic, it's also more durable than natural hair and stands up well to solvents and paint.
Works with oil colour, water-mixable oils, and acrylics. Each brush has a gold ferrule and a long dark brown lacquered handle, with characteristically variegated hair in ivory, gold, and brown.
Note: The Monarch range uses synthetic filaments as an ethical alternative to natural Mongoose hair, which is now an endangered species.
