The Cotman Short Handle Round - Series 111 - is one of the most reliable entry-level watercolour brushes around. It's made from a blend of synthetic fibres of varying thicknesses — the thicker ones provide spring and structure, while the finer ones help carry and release colour smoothly. The result is a brush that holds a good point consistently and performs well above its price point.

The short handle is well-balanced and comfortable for table-top work, and the nickel-plated brass ferrule resists corrosion and makes cleaning straightforward. A solid all-purpose round for fine detail, linework, and washes alike.
