The Pro Arte Series 99 Connoisseur is a one stroke watercolour brush — a wide, flat shape designed to lay down a clean, even band of colour in a single pass. Like the Series 100 round, it's made from a carefully developed blend of Prolene synthetic and sable that looks and feels like a pure sable, holds colour well, and releases it evenly across the stroke. The synthetic content keeps the price well below a Kolinsky sable while adding durability that artists have come to rely on over many years.
The one stroke shape makes it particularly well suited to laying flat washes, painting skies and backgrounds, and any technique where you need broad, consistent coverage without streaking.
